Scary Air Ride Pics!!!

 

These pictures are examples of what gives airride a bad name (Bad Installations)

Air ride suspension is perfectly safe as long as it is done correctly!!!

Remember there are millions of 18 wheelers on the roads today with air ride!!!

This is the rear suspension on a classic truck which had an inexperienced welder installing the four-link!!!  Note the mangled bed supports, upper bag bracket broken loose and crushed aluminum fuel cell!!!  There was one of the 4 link bars and one bag mount still attached!!!  The new 22" rear wheels and tires were also destroyed!!!  Note the broken fuel line on the fuel cell....it could have been much worse!!!!!  We estimated the damage at almost $8000.00!!!!

 

         

Note broken shock mount, lower bag mount and wiring!!! AAHHHHHH

We did not work on, fix or anyway associated with any of the above !!!!

    

Always use DOT approved airline or copper line...NEVER use inferior parts!!!

The spring cup must be cut out so that the bag never comes into contact with anything!!!

Wiring is very important...you don't want to catch your ride on fire!!!

              

Note the weld on the bag bracket broke and bent the top of the bag mount!

You can't see it in the picture, the 2 link bars are bent due to running side-to-side on a 2-link!!  If you want side to side run a 4-link!!!

         

When this setup came in the shock mounts had broken off, and one of the bottom bag brackets was broken off!!!

THIS S10 WAS ONE OF THE WORST ONES WE'VE SEEN!!!  EVERYTHING WAS CUT OUT WITH A TORCH AND NOT GROUND DOWN!!! ALL 4 BAGS WERE RUBBING!!!  THE HOME-MADE 2 LINKS HAD NO BUSHINGS (METAL TO METAL)!!!  THE WIRING WAS A RATS NEST!!!  EVERYTHING WAS JUNK!!! 

 

 

Always remember:

You get what you pay for!

It will cost you more in the long run to get it fixed correctly!
